With summer right around the corner, the San Marcos Fire Department is reminding residents of the importance of water safety at any age, but especially for children. The San Marcos Fire and Aquatics departments are teaming up for the fourth year in a row to offer poolside CPR training. Because trained professionals are rarely the first to arrive at an incident scene, the Poolside CPR program empowers others to take action and save a life if needed until professional help arrives. Lifeguards and firefighters will demonstrate and guide practice sessions for pool visitors throughout the swim season at the Woodland Park and Las Posas pools. For more information visit www.san-marcos.net. These pools will also be host locations for the seventh attempt at the Guinness World Record for largest swimming lesson ever conducted on June 24.
