Philanthropists Malin and Roberta Burnham recently made a $225,000 gift to California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) to establish the Burnham Leadership Experience, a program under the umbrella of the College of Business Administration’s (CoBA) Senior Experience Program. The Senior Experience Program matches teams of undergraduate business students with projects submitted by a wide range of businesses and organizations. Nearly half of the projects are for nonprofit organizations, and the Burnham Leadership Experience will allow nonprofits that could not afford the participation fee to submit projects. The donation will fund three teams of students every semester in perpetuity.
“Malin and Roberta Burnham’s gift will significantly increase the impact that our students are able to have on the nonprofit sector in San Diego County,” said CoBA Director of Business Community Relations Ed Ashley. “The Burnham Leadership Experience will provide an excellent opportunity for nonprofit organizations that may not have had the means to participate in the past.”
